About
Nazareth School for girls was founded in 1953 by the society of the daughters of the Heart of Mary. It was established on a land given by the Imperial government of Ethiopia for building a school for girls.
Though a catholic mission, Nazareth School serves all sectors of the community irrespective of a religion, race and economic class. It is one of the few private mission schools where school fees are moderately low. From the time of its accreditations by the Ministry of Education, Nazareth School has been providing education from primary to grade twelve.
The school has given due emphasis to the deep rooted and timeless truth “to educate a man is to educate an individual but to educate a woman is to educate a nation”.
Good Will
Our classmates who live in Minnesota took the initiative to form a charitable association that seeks educational opportunities for underprivileged children in partnership with Nazareth School. To learn more about the association and what they have accomplished please see the PowerPoint slides they presented at the reunion here.
We would like to thank them for their commendable efforts and hope the example they set would motivate us to do more.
